Beyond the Walls of Avalon
Captain of The Renan Guard
Captain of Renan’s Guard, Lana Xi’Tang is a warrior the likes of which is only seen once every ten generations. With a father from across the seas, and a mother from a nameless human village, Lana was born in the melting pot of Renan, and learned to fend for herself among the brutal culture of casual violence in the slums. Her mother was killed when Lana was only five, and her father neglected her through her childhood years. Once she reached adolescence, however, he began to notice her natural talent for violence, and trained her in a form of martial arts known as Tsu’Li, which combined both unarmed and sword combat. Fully schooled in martial combat by age 15, Lana approached the guards, who were recuiting everyone and anyone due to the crimewave sweeping the city in the wake of the Great Arena Upset. Combining her two styles of martial training, Lana mastered attack and defense, and became the scourge of the streets, and with her tough attitude, gained the respect of the men under her command, so much so that anyone under her watch grew their hair as long as hers. Affectionately nicknamed the Longmanes, the regiment grew famous throughout the human kingdoms. Externally, Lana was the hero of Renan, internally, her fear of intimacy left her emotionally crippled, and even more ruthless in her pursuit of duty – earning the reputation of a cold heart. Behind her back, some of the more chauvinistic guards call her Virgin Tang, or Iron Cunt.
